    Approximately a 30-minute drive from our self-catering cottages at Worstead Estate, Cromer and Sheringham are two delightful seaside towns that come alive during the summer months. Enjoy a mix of sandy and stony shorelines, perfect for long coastal walks with stunning sea views.

    Explore independent shops, charming cafés, and local restaurants that add character to each town. Both destinations are dog-friendly year-round, though please note that from May to October, some beach areas have restricted access for dogs.

  • Bacton & Happisburgh – Tranquil Beaches Just 20 Minutes Away
    Just a short 20-minute drive from Worstead Estate, Bacton and Happisburgh offer a quieter alternative to the busier coastal towns. These charming spots boast long, sandy beaches—ideal for peaceful summer holidays, seaside strolls, or simply unwinding by the waves.

    Perfect for those looking to escape the crowds while still enjoying Norfolk’s stunning coastline.

NORFOLK BEACHES FAQ’s

  • Cromer, Bacton and Sheringham beaches are dog friendly, however, some parts of the beach are closed off to dogs during peak season. There is still a large amount of the beach available for dogs with clear signs, this is between May - September, other months dogs have full access.

    Happisburgh however has no restrictions all year round.

  • Sheringham and Cromer have lifeguards available within a certain part of the beach, with signs displayed. Bacton and Happisburgh, however, do not have lifeguards. Other beaches that do are Sea Palling, Mundesley, Wells-Next-The-Sea and West Runton.

  • West Runton, Cromer and Sheringham offer full accessibility with slopes available to gain access on the beach and the promenades.
