SEE THE SEALS IN NORFOLK

North Norfolk is one of the best places in the UK to see seals in their natural habitat. Whether you take a boat trip from Blakeney or walk along the coast at Sea Palling, you'll have the chance to spot both common and grey seals basking on the sandbanks or swimming close to shore—especially during the winter pupping season. It's a truly magical wildlife experience for visitors of all ages.

  • Sea Palling & Waxham
Sea Palling and Waxham offer fantastic, quieter spots to see seals along the North Norfolk coast. Take a peaceful walk along the beach and you may spot grey seals swimming close to shore or relaxing on the sand, especially during the winter pupping season. These unspoiled stretches of coastline provide a more tranquil seal-watching experience, perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike. Both are just a short 20 minute drive from our hoidays cottages.

  • Blakeney Point
One of the most famous spots, Blakeney Point is home to a large colony of grey and common seals. Regular boat trips depart from Morston Quay, offering up-close views of the seals basking on the sandbanks, especially during the winter pupping season.

Blakeney is under an hour drive from Worstead Estate and we highly recommend adding in Holt as a stopping point with it being so close to Blakeney. It will make for a great day out of seeing North Norfolk.

  • Yes. Places like Horsey Gap, Winterton, Sea Palling, and Waxham allow you to walk along the beach and view seals from the shore.

  • Dogs are welcome on many coastal walks, but they must be kept on a lead near seal colonies to avoid disturbing the animals or causing distress.
