The Future of Worstead Estate
At Worstead Estate, our mission has always been to honour our heritage while evolving for the future. By restoring historic buildings, creating spaces that bring people together, and enhancing the experiences we can offer, we’re ensuring that the estate continues to thrive for generations to come.
Over the next few years, a series of carefully planned projects will strengthen our role as both a welcoming destination for visitors and a cornerstone for the local community. Each development reflects our commitment to preserving character while introducing new opportunities for leisure, hospitality, and connection.
Expanding Our Holiday Accommodation
We are committed to growing our collection of holiday homes, offering guests unique stays that blend history with modern comfort.
Gatehouse South – Next up is this restoration project, which will complement Gatehouse North to create a pair of beautifully renovated cottages. Sleeping up to six guests, the property will feature a hot tub, games room, and refreshed design inside and out, enhancing our offering for families and groups.
Keepers Cottage – Scheduled for launch in 2027, Keepers Cottage will be restored as a grand period holiday home. Located next to our wedding venue, it will provide an ideal base for wedding parties and larger gatherings, further strengthening our appeal as a destination for celebrations.
The Greenhouse – A New Restoration Project
Set within the Walled Gardens beside The Woodyard, The Greenhouse is one of our most ambitious future projects. Though currently in need of restoration, its architectural features and distinctive pipework give it remarkable character.
Our vision is to bring this structure back to life so that it not only complements our wedding venue but also the work that will be done on The Coach House at a later date. This development will provide a unique focal point within the estate and reinforce our commitment to community and hospitality.
Enhancing the Lakeside Experience
The lakeside Boat House and its “You & I” boat have already begun their transformation. In the years ahead, they will play a central role in enhancing our wedding and leisure experiences, offering a picturesque backdrop for photography and a serene setting for guests to enjoy during warmer months.
The Coach House – Estate Dining Reinvented
Looking further ahead, one of our most significant ventures will be the transformation of The Coach House into a restaurant. Designed to celebrate estate-to-plate dining, it will feature produce and meats directly from Worstead Estate, offering guests an authentic connection to the land and its traditions.
This project represents more than just a restaurant, it is a long-term investment in creating a space where the local community and visitors alike can come together, enjoy high-quality food, and appreciate the estate’s natural surroundings.
Our Vision
These projects are part of a wider vision to strengthen Worstead Estate’s position as a place where heritage and progress work hand in hand. By expanding our hospitality offering, creating spaces for community connection, and investing in sustainable growth, we are building an estate that not only honours its past but also looks boldly to the future.
